PT Nanny - Melville - Spanish Speaking Preferred

Schedule: Part-Time | Initially 1–2 Full Days Per Week (Thursday’s required)

A warm and welcoming family in Melville is seeking a loving, engaging, and dependable Part-Time Nanny to care for their happy 17-month-old child. The family hopes to find someone who is looking for a long-term position and is excited about growing alongside them, as they plan to expand their family in the future.

They are looking for someone who will become a trusted part of their family and a consistent presence in their child's life. While the position will begin with one to two full days per week, the family anticipates increasing both the number of days and hours as their needs grow.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate is warm, patient, energetic, and enjoys spending the day actively engaging toddlers through play, reading, music, conversation, and outdoor activities. The family follows a screen-free approach and values caregivers who foster learning, independence, and creativity through hands-on interaction.

As the schedule expands, the family would appreciate someone who is flexible and happy to assist with light household tasks during downtime, allowing them to remain an integrated and valued member of the household.

Childcare Responsibilities

Provide attentive, nurturing care for a 17-month-old toddler.

Plan and engage in age-appropriate, developmentally enriching activities.

Read books, sing songs, encourage language development, and participate in imaginative play.

Take the child on neighborhood walks and enjoy outdoor time when weather permits.

Prepare and serve the child's three daily meals and two snacks.

Encourage positive mealtime habits and independence.

Maintain the child's daily routine, including one afternoon nap beginning around 12:00–12:30 PM.

Communicate openly with parents regarding the child's day, milestones, and routines.

Household Responsibilities

During naps or downtime, responsibilities may include:

Tidying common living areas used throughout the day.

Washing bottles and cleaning up after meals.

Folding child’s laundry.

Organizing toys and belongings.

Light housekeeping related to the child.

Warm, nurturing, and dependable.

Flexible as the family's childcare needs increase over time.

Comfortable working collaboratively with parents, including days when one parent is working from home.

Comfortable taking the child on neighborhood walks and encouraging active play.

Organized, proactive, and happy to assist with light household support when appropriate.

Spanish-speaking or bilingual (preferred).

CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain certification).

Schedule

Initially 1–2 full days per week - Thursday’s required

Hours are generally 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM, with some flexibility.

One parent works from home on a flexible schedule.

The family expects to increase both hours and days over time.

Compensation: $30 per hour
