Over time, we’ve learned that what feels obvious to one household can be entirely out of bounds for another. For that reason, we begin every search by setting aside assumptions and approaching each family with a genuinely open mind. Our first priority is not to define a role, but to understand how a household communicates, makes decisions, and understands itself.
We take time to learn how principals think, what they value, and what kind of home they are intentionally—or unintentionally—creating. Rather than relying on surface preferences, we ask broader, foundational questions about expectations, boundaries, and long-term vision. This clarity allows us to interpret what is being asked for, as well as what may be needed but not yet articulated.
Only once that understanding is established do we move into a search. By moving deliberately at the outset, we create a process that feels considered rather than reactive, and placements that begin with confidence rather than correction.
